Morning Ya’ll!
Mar 3rd, 2008 by Sylvia
We’re expecting a 72* day today! Yay! I am planning to open up some windows and air out the house a while after lunch.
I woke up this morning with my mind just spinning with all I want to accomplish. Here is a small sample of things I would like to get done this spring.
- Make new living room and dining room curtains. I have lace panels right now and in the summer, they just don’t keep out enough sun or heat. I am covering the windows with a film, but I think a more opaque panel would help a lot.
- Rip up the living room carpet!
- Paint my bedroom. I’ve decided on a deep cranberry color and a border.
- Touch up paint in the dining room and kitchen.
- Start seeds for the garden! In fact, we’re doing that this week.
- Paint the bathroom. I have not decided on the color, but I am leaning toward a chocolate brown to be highlighted with light blue accessories.
- Make candles. I want to get a big head start on my candle making this year so I can sell them.
- Spring Cleaning! I’m joining the gals over at T2CHK for their Green Spring Clean in April. We’re going to be using natural cleaners and disinfectants.
- Paint my front porch. Its black. I’ve scraped it down to the concrete and painted it with the proper paints, but it still wears off! Its looking really pitiful right now and doesn’t make a very good first impression, so it needs to be re-done.
What are you planning on doing this spring?

Mornin’ Sylvi
I’m going to be doing a modified spring clean these next two weeks. Then after that, we’ll be painting the outside of the house. HUGE job!! I’m also going to be painting my living room and hallway and I need to do something with my office/sewing room. The walls are pale gray. Blech! Not me at all. Still deciding. The carpet is gray too, but not sure how much money will be left to re-do the floor - so we shall see. It’s my hope, and top priority to paint the outside of the house and fence the front yard. If I can get those two major projects done. I’m good.
Hi Traci
What colors have you decided on for the living room and hallway?
Are ya’ll going to paint the house yourselves of hire someone to paint? I cannot imagine you climbing around out there painting all those little shingles and shutters! Or maybe I can!

Sylvi - we haven’t 100% decided if we’re (Mark and I) are going to paint it, or if we’re going to have it done. We’re going to get bids. Honestly, with Mark working 7 days per week, I think he needs to spend his vacation time RESTING, not painting.
Nope, haven’t decided yet on a living room color, I’ll be ordering new slipcovers here in another week or so, and plan to get a color from within that. I do know the back wall where the fireplace is - that’s now green - will be red. Country, prim-type red.
The other walls, most likely creamy, buttery color of some shade. That’s what I’m leaning towards anyway. We’ll see how that would go with the new slipcovers.
Yes, I think you should hire it out, give that man a real rest instead of a vacation that wears him out more than work!
Well, you know how I love red, so I approve. lol! My colors are red, brown, yellow and cream , so similar I guess. Looking forward to seeing it when done.

Sylvia, I saw on TWC the storms that were heading toward ya’ll. Stay safe. Jessica called earlier and said that she was going to a friends house to hang out.
I’ve heard good things about the surgery also, except that you sometimes have to have it redone 10-15 yrs down the road.

It’s me again. Are you going to have the spring cleaning plan on the webpage or just the message board?
It will be on the web site as well as the board, but of course there is no personal interaction on the web site. If all you need is the lists and information, the web site is the way to go.
Very nice people.
BTW Patty, I meant to tell you earlier, Sarah is riding to school now with one of your in-laws and son
