Really Quiet Around Here…
Jul 14th, 2008 by Sylvia
The children have gone swimming with a friend and her grandson. She showed up at my door with a brand new CHAPS suitcase for me to take to Jamaica! Yay! And then promptly took the little guys swimming. Oldest DD is at a friend’s house. And I have made some of that Peach Jam I promised you. It looks so good! I can’t wait to get it on here as a tutorial. When I took pictures of the peeled peaches today I coudl just think of how they are so pink like a blushing face.
That’s not really what’s on my mind though. I am thinking about school this fall. I know its early. I have three at home in school again. We just can’t afford another year at private school. I’m thankful for the one we had and I try to help Sarah give thanks for it too, but its hard for her to do so sometimes.
I have no real idea of what I am going to pull together for her. Mark says that since she doesn’t have very many credits to earn this Fall, she should try to get a job. I agree, I think she will be a good employee and it would be good experience for her. Plus it will get her out of the house every day. After being away all year last year, she will need it. OK, so will I.
But as far as what curriculum to get, I am at a loss. She only needs math, science, literature and a couple of electives. <SIGH>
The other two are in 4th and 8th grade. It won’t be too hard to get them outfitted once I really get thinking.

Hi Sylvia,
We start in two weeks! Eeekkk. I am behind in planning because we were gone for so long. I have a 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 9th grader this year.
It is never too early to be thinking about school in the fall.
I am looking forward to the peach jam tutorial, but sad that I won’t get to taste any.
Enjoy your quiet time!!
TWOOO WEEEKS?? You are my new super hero.
I’d fall over in a coma if I thought I had to start in two weeks.
The most children I’ve homeschooled is 5, the fewest is 2. Three or four is defintely a challenge.
Five was a zoo but we managed. LOL!
Well, I guess I will have to mail you some jam so get your address to me.
Love
Sylvia
Really? I get to taste some peach jam? ooooooh. I’ll send my address, if your serious, in a little bit. I have to get off here and get busy in the school room. Just got on here to tell you your name is added to the contest. This happened before I knew about the jam.
LOL!
Yes, I’m serious. And thank you.
Sylvia
Hey Sylvia!
I soooo need to start thinking about school and it has not even crossed my mind (well…. not much)…. My 1st grandbaby was born! You’ll have to stop by and see him!
Thanks for always being an inspiration for me and countless others!
