School Curriculum Choices
Aug 14th, 2008 by Sylvia
Finally I feel like I’ve made some definite choices for curriculum this year. Here is what we’re going to be using:
4th Grader:
Language/Grammar/English/Vocab - Pathway - Building Our Lives and Climbing To Good English
Math-U-See - Gamma Level
History - Tapestry of Grace, The History of Redemption, supplementing with Greenleaf Press throughout the year.
Science - Classic Science Series, Life Science for Elementary Grades, Nature Notebook
Handwriting Practice and Art - Rod and Staff
P.E. - President’s Physical Fitness Program
8th Grader:
Learning Language Arts Through Literature - Green Book
Writing Strands levels 3 and 4
Math-U-See - Delta Level to begin with and then on to the next level
History - Tapestry of Grace, The History of Redemption, starting with ancient Egypt
Science - Abeka Physical Science
Art - Rod and Staff
P.E. - President’s Physical Fitness Program
8th grader also has a business that I hope will continue on through the fall.
12th grader:
12th grader is going to be looking for a part time job this fall.
British Literature - English IV
Economics - using Puritan.com materials
Geometry - Math-U-See
Art Elective - Rod and Staff
12th grader already has enough credits to graduate but needs the economics, math and literature classes. The art is just an extra elective.
So that’s it. I can hardly believe I don’t have a preschooler or a first grader or something. I have been homeschooling for 17 years now! But its all coming to an end. Am I sad? Sort of going to miss it, but not sad. I still have my beautiful children all around me, living their lives, finding their God ordained niche. Actually, I love knowing that they made it through and are making it through.
I don’t want to stop and keep them little. Life moves on and I want to move with it, I want my children to move with it to see what God is doing. School is fun and interesting and having them here is a blessing, but I am looking forward to having them move on in life as much as they are.

Sounds wonderful, Sylvia! Wow, 17 years. I know someday I’ll be there and I think I’ll feel much the same. Love, Wardeh
