Guess What I Found?

You’ll never guess. I went to a few yard sales Saturday, as is my custom. And I found a BRAND NEW, still in the box in the plastic bag, Bodum french press coffee maker! Squeeeeee! LOL!
The pot sits on a cork round and the press doesn’t even get WARM when I pour hot water in it to make coffee because it has a double glass wall. Its not exactly like any of the Bodum pots listed on amazon.com, so it may be out-dated and not made any more. But it is so nice. Looks like 8 cups. It has a glass handle and a little cork round it sits on. The closest I can come to matching it at amazon is $29.95, but they don’t really carry one that is like it. The manufacturer’s price is $49.99… I went to the Bodum site and found one that was very similar except mine has a glass handle and it was $69.95. And the greatest thing about this french press coffee maker? I paid $5 for it! They have another one, want me to go get it for you? :D I should have gotten it, but I was so giddy with my find that I wasn’t thinking straight. LOL
I don’t like coffee, but I am so glad you found something you like. Are these the pots that press the coffee grounds to the bottom of the pot? Doesn’t that make the coffee stronger and bitter? Like I said, I don’t like coffee, so I don’t make it.
Now at Starbucks, I’ll have a little bit of coffee with my sugar and cream and chocolate, but then that isn’t coffee right? LOL

A french press does press the ground down to the bottom of the pot, but the grounds don’t touch the coffee after you push them down, so no bitterness and the coffee doesn’t get stronger..
I have a hard time warming up to Starbucks, their coffee hasn’t been that great every time I’ve been, EXCEPT for the flavored, sweetened coffees and oh my, those are really good.

Yep the flavored, sweet stuff is really good at Starbucks. That’s why I don’t go there anymore. One of the ladies there told me the Mocha Frapp. was at least 600 calories. eeek….
Oh my…. 600?? OH….. well I know why my inner skinny person was telling me to stay away! LOL!

Yes, I know… I could just kick myself. I think I will amble on out there this weekend just to check and seeeeee if its still there. It was a yard sale, but it is a little thrift store so I am thinking it is open all the time.
